Potassium Iodide Tablets

For protecting the thyroid during a radiation emergency

Prepare Yourself for Nuclear Events & Radiation Don't leave your safety to chance in the event of a nuclear emergency. Protect yourself from hazardous nuclear radiation by stocking up on our Potassium Iodide tablets.

Manufactured in the USA.

Why Choose Potassium Iodide for Your Preparedness? The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) highlight that during radiation emergencies, such as nuclear power plant accidents, radioactive iodine can be released into the environment and enter our bodies through breathing or ingestion. This is known as internal contamination.

High levels of radioactive iodine absorbed by the thyroid can significantly increase the risk of thyroid cancer, particularly in infants, children, and young adults, even years after exposure. The thyroid, located in the neck, performs vital functions in our bodies.

Potassium Iodide can serve as a thyroid blocker during nuclear radiation emergencies. Radioactive iodine (I-131) has the potential to harm the thyroid in both humans and animals, with even small amounts of I-131 capable of causing thyroid cancer. By taking Potassium Iodide (KI), the thyroid becomes saturated with "good iodine," leaving no room for the absorption of the "bad iodine" I-131.

How KI Safeguards the Thyroid Both KI and radioactive iodine are forms of iodine that the thyroid absorbs. To effectively shield the thyroid, KI must be taken before or shortly after exposure to radioactive iodine. By doing so, the thyroid has already absorbed the KI and lacks the capacity to absorb the radioactive iodine.

WARNING: Prior to taking Potassium Iodide, consult your physician if you have iodine allergies, dermatitis herpetiformis (DH), vasculitis, thyroid disease, or heart disease. Follow your doctors advice.
